Smokefree Outdoor Areas Forum videos

On September 23rd, Cancer Society Auckland Northland and Te Ara Hā Ora hosted Melbourne City Councillor Richard Foster and local experts for a Smokefree Outdoor Areas Forum to reflect on Auckland's current Smokefree policy and inform future direction to achieve Auckland’s Smokefree targets.
The day was opened by Rangi McLean, Executive Officer of Hāpai Te Hauora, John Loof, CE of Cancer Society Auckland Northland, Auckland Mayor Len Brown and Auckland Councillor Chris Darby.
The main presentations of the day included: Ngarimu Blair from the Tūpuna Maunga o Tāmaki Makaurau Authority, who shared about their work in making maunga Smokefree; Councillor Foster, a leader in progressing Melbourne City Council’s Smokefree urban areas, who shared of Melbourne City Council's successful approach to implementing Smokefree, including consultation with business and community; new local Smokefree research shared by Dr Allan Wyllie; international trends in Smokefree public places presented by Assoc Prof George Thomson and Health Sector Lawyers Peter Le Cren and Aisling Weir sharing ways to strengthen Smokefree policy in NZ.
