Te Ara Hā Ora Kaiwhakahaere

With Zoe Martin-Hawke
It has been a busy six months with unexpected ministry realignment announcements thrown in the mix. Despite the news Te Ara Hā Ora have made a concerted effort to remain focused on our services strategic plan and on building leadership, strengthening communication and enhancing collaboration. One of the vehicles for leadership, communication and collaboration building has been the forming of Waka Tupeka Kore. Waka Tupeka Kore (named by Shane Bradbrook) is the Māori collective for tobacco control. The collective was formed in response to the Māori sectors call for a forum where we could all gather to share strategies, best practice examples and to find ways to effectively get whānau to 2025. A copy of our terms of reference for the Waka Tupeka Kore is featured below.
If you would like to keep updated on Waka Tupeka hui ,and the latest news, reviews and opinions in Māori Tobacco Control there is the ontheground2025 email forum. The tikanga for this form can be viewed below. Please flick me an email if you would like to be added. We hope you enjoy our latest newsletter which this time is aimed at keeping us all motivated even with uncertainty looming. We all still have whānau to get to smokefree 2025 and everyday counts.
